Mary Katranzou - Garment Shapes Range

Mary Katrantzou Project - These are my final garment shapes and styles as a range. The garments are flesh coloured and will come in a variety of Western, Asian and African skin tones to appeal to a wider market. The fabrics consist of transparent fine mesh , against opaque flesh coloured Lycra, 2 way stretch in which the tattoo print would be applied onto

Mary Katrantzou Project - I began to experiment with inks to replicate sections of traditional tattoo design, including Japanese water patterns, waves, and fish scales, which could possibly be developed into a print at a later stage.

Mary Katrantzou Project - Japaense Tattoo Inspiration Board

Mary Katrantzou Project - I was was inspired by traditional Japanese tattoo for print , as Mary Katrantzou is so focused on innovative and creative prints, I made the connection of tattooing being a print upon the human figure, which tied in with the contour element of the brief. I wanted to transfer tattoo inspired prints onto the fabric of the contour garment, as if to be a second skin.
